About the Event

As Europe accelerates its green and digital transitions, securing a sustainable and autonomous supply of critical raw materials (CRMs) has become a strategic priority. To meet this challenge, innovation in mineral exploration must reach deeper, smarter, and more sustainably than ever before.

Recognizing their shared goals, DEXPLORE, UNDERCOVER, and TERRAVISION projects are joining forces to host this full-day clustering event dedicated to collaboration and knowledge exchange across the European CRM exploration community.

These projects represent Europe’s cutting-edge research on deep-land CRM discovery:

  • DEXPLORE – Developing advanced surface-to-subsurface exploration tools targeting depths up to 600 metres.
  • UNDERCOVER – Pushing exploration beyond 1,000 metres, integrating geophysical, geochemical, and AI-driven methods to reveal the deep Earth.
  • TERRAVISION – Supporting sustainable mining through an Earth Observation-based platform for data integration, lifecycle monitoring, and impact assessment.

Alongside the organizing projects, several Horizon Europe initiatives including DeepBEAT, MINOTAUR, PERSEPHONE, MINEYE, SEMACRET, and AGEMERA—as well as the INTERREG Europe projectEMRIE, will share their latest findings. Together, they offer a comprehensive overview of Europe’s evolving CRM exploration landscape.

Why Joining ?

This full-day event will bring together EU-funded projects, industry, policymakers, and researchers to:

  • Present the latest advances in deep CRM exploration and sustainable mining.
  • Discuss technical challenges, from subsurface imaging to AI-driven data integration.
  • Exchange best practices, align methodologies with European CRM experts
  • Connect with researchers, industry, and policymakers.
  • Explore opportunities for collaboration such as joint publications, and policy recommendations.

The agenda includes project overviews, panel Q&As, a stakeholders’ workshop, and networking opportunities—making it a unique platform to connect and share knowledge.
